training neural networks to map the spatial and gestural relationships between bodies to control custom generative music systems.

Latency

Systems for Latent Space Exploration in Development

Latency is an experimental new media work that creates and enables embodied connections between sound, light, and the body through collaborative interaction with artificial intelligence. Through the combined use of custom neural networks, computer vision technologies, generative systems for sound, light, and imagery, and a commitment to rigorous interdisciplinary exploration that informs the development of embodied transmodal relationships between traditionally disparate forms, practices, and methodologies. This work attempts to honor and extend the historical traditions of art while responding to humanity’s current relationship to technology through the recontextualization of Artificial Intelligence’s from tools at our disposal, to collaborators that enable an extended capacity for creative expression, abstraction, and interaction.

Works currently in development include interactive sculpture and installation, and interpretive AI systems for improvisatory and choreographed dance performance.
